Before & After 05 - DFW Microblading of Murrieta and Temecula

One of the most appealing aspects of microblading is the fact that, once it’s done, your eyebrows require very little maintenance.

That being said, a little work goes a long way when it comes to keeping your brows looking good for as long as possible.

Listed below are some essential microblading care tips that will help you maintain your new brows.

Get Rid of the Extra Dye

The first thing you should do after having your eyebrows microbladed is get rid of the excess dye.

To do this, dip a cotton swab in sterilized water. You can sterilize your water by boiling it for about five minutes. Let the water cool, then run the swab gently over your brows.

This also helps keep the area sterile to prevent infections. Remember, after microblading, you essentially have open wounds on your brows – do everything you can to keep them safe and clean.

Keep Potential Irritants Away from Your Brows

For at least a week, you need to keep potential irritants, including makeup and skincare products, away from your brows.

These products can increase your risk of developing an infection. If you apply them too soon, they can also cause your brows to look less pigmented.

Keep hair off your face as much as possible, too. If you have bangs, clip them back, so they’re off your forehead.

Keep Your Face Dry and Avoid Extreme Heat

It’s also important to stay away from water and extreme heat while your brows are healing. Don’t lay out in the sun and avoid the sauna for up to 10 days.

It can also be beneficial to wear a hat or large sunglasses when you do have to go out in the sun to give your brows a little extra protection.

You should also avoid swimming and sweaty workouts for the same amount of time. Both of these can affect the pigmentation of your brows.

As your brows heal, it’s even necessary to avoid getting your face wet while you’re in the shower. This can be a bit of a pain, of course, but remember that a little extra work now is worth it to help your brows look great and last longer.

Apply Healing Balm as Directed

Finally, be sure to apply the healing balm or special medicated cream that your technician gives you. Follow their instructions carefully to see the best results.

If you have questions about how to use the balm or want to make sure you’re caring for your brows correctly, don’t hesitate to call your technician and ask.
